About Us

Maurice Tinsley, owner and Instructor at Tinsley’s School of Barbering

As a North Carolina licensed barber since 2002 and owner of Tinsley’s Barbershop in Reidsville North Carolina since 2005, I have enjoyed serving the community and surrounding areas with many different barber services, haircuts, and styles. Being a barber has allowed me to fulfill my dreams of being a business owner respected in my community, as well as, helped me to maintain the stability necessary to provide for me and my family. I started this school in 2021 with hopes to help others who inspire to become a licensed barber achieve and enjoy some of the same benefits that I was able to enjoy over the years. I encourage anyone who comes through this program to take what they’ve learned with them, maintain the professional standards set forth and with every chance given find a way to positively impact and improve the Barbering Profession.

Mission Statement

@Tinsley’s School of Barbering

We delight ourselves in providing our students with the “Right Stuff” to become a licensed barber in the state of North Carolina. “ teach the Educational Stuff” necessary to help students comprehend and meet the requirements set out by the state board of barber examiners. also teach the Technical Stuff to help build confidence in handling and understanding the tools and equipment used every day in the barber profession. And, in addition to the Educational and Technical Stuff, we teach the Business Stuff to help our students understand the many ways to succeed financially as a licensed Barber and Business Owner.

Environment

Tinsley’s School of Barber Styling, established in 2021, offers an environment that is small and comfortable, but energetic in its teaching of students. We limit our student capacity to that which will allow us to enable a close student body and faculty relationship.
